In times of extreme uncertainty and chaos, we are looking for clarity and yearning for the feeling of connection with others. Nobody can deny the natural metamorphosis we are experiencing. Unconsciously the investigation starts. We are made of fragments belonging to other people, formed generation after generation, their stories became our stories, but the time is limited and vulnerable.

Ivana Kojić (*1986) relocated to Switzerland in 1992 from Ex-Yugoslavia. She attended the first year of the Master in Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she previously got her Bachelor. Her multidisciplinary practice combines installation, video, sculpture, and photography. Evolving from her personal experience as a Seconda, her work explores the various ruptures and glitches of a post-war and post-migrational generation, shaped by the conflict of dichotomous living systems between inclusivity/exclusivity, traditions/modernity, individualism/collectivism. In doing so, she broadly uses references to mythology, folklore, ritualistic practice, and tradition. Furthermore, her focus is also on identity issues, feminism, religion, nationalism, and man-nature-technology.
